Crete

Summit meeting

Setting your sights on Crete and its 35 million olive trees means opting for the quieter side of Greece. It means choosing the Mediterranean lifestyle, where one takes time to enjoy life, eat well and drink ouzo. It means sleeping near the sea by night and enthusiastically tackling mountain passes by day via small villages and quiet roads in the western and central part of the island. These passes cross through two mountains, the highest of which – Mount Ida, at 2,500 m – is believed to be the birthplace of Zeus, supreme god of Olympus and Greek mythology! In this sensual panorama where the mountains and sun create a stunning interplay of light and shadow, your daily route will average sixty kilometers and a slope of 800 meters. An athletic, epicurean adventure that is definitely no myth!
