Maryland

Wise choice for an early spring, Maryland in bloom offers many points of interest. Your route, which starts and ends in Cambridge — founded in 1864 and featuring a beautiful historic quarter — explores the area bordered by the Delaware and Chesapeake Bays. You cross through Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, virtually car-free and home to several animal species, including the now endangered bald eagle. You also pedal to Harrington and the Delware Agricultural Museum, Chestertown with its pre-Civil War homes and Easton, with its fascinating architectural heritage - all along wide-shouldered routes and relatively even terrain.
