Romantic Road

Created in the 1950s, the Romantic Road — Die Romantische Straße — linking Würzburg to Füssen is the most magnificent route in Germany. You will appreciate the quiet charm of its countryside and the outstanding quality of its bike network. The pleasant stopovers along the way will allow you to linger in the magnificent medieval village of Rothenburg, admire the famous churches, windmills, marketplace and town hall in Augsburg, and marvel at the incredible Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein Castles — the latter recognizable on the Disney logo and in Sleeping Beauty. And your epic journey ends in the capital of Munich, “nestled between art and beer”, in the words of Heinrich Heine, considered the last of the romantic poets.
