On the right wing of the butterfly
The right wing of this archipelago will be your cycling playground and Saint-François will be your home base. Grande-Terre is basically a plain dominated by small hills or mornes, the highest of which peaks at 177 meters. Famous for its beaches, Saint-François is one of Guadeloupe’s main tourist hubs, though much quieter than Pointe-à-Pitre and Le Gosier. From here, you will bike through a large part of Grande-Terre on less travelled roads and then head northward to Pointe des Châteaux and its breathtaking cliffs. A constant view of the sea and a French flair to the cuisine add to the appeal of this popular cycling destination. And after spending a wonderful day in historic Marie-Galante and being ferried back to Saint-François, you will be pedalling on air!Photo credit: Diane Dufresne et Yvan Monette
