Italian Riviera

The Italian Riviera is a crescent-shaped strip of Mediterranean coastline in northern Italy, just above the knee of this boot-shaped peninsula. This sunny itinerary gives you the option of a seaside route, mainly between Diano Marina and Viareggio, or a steeper, more challenging inland route. On the way, you will pass through Gênes, birthplace of the explorer Christopher Columbus, and have the opportunity to visit Cinque Terre, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its beautiful, multicoloured villages spectacularly perched atop steep cliffs. The final leg of your trip will take a more cultural turn as you leave the coast and pedal toward Pisa and Florence. Italy’s many charms will leave you in awe!
