Biking through history

Starting in Brittany, but focused mainly in Normandy, the Saint-Malo–Deauville trip is, in many respects, a page out of history. It is from this northwestern part of France that Jacques Cartier (Saint-Malo) and Samuel de Champlain (Honfleur, near Deauville), two explorers figuring prominently in Quebec history, set sail. It is also the site of one of the most important events of the Second World War - the Battle of Normandy in June 1944, commemorated by the Caen Memorial. In addition, it features the extraordinary Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the main tourist attractions in France. Along the way, you will be able to stop at the Christian-Dior Museum, in Granville, as well as Deauville Beach, famous since 1923 for its popular wooden boardwalk, Les Planches. Hundreds of historic kilometers unfold before you!
