La Vélodyssée is a cycle tourism route that runs along the entire French Atlantic coast, and is part of Eurovélo 1, also known as theAtlantic Coast Route, a major cycle route linking Norway to Portugal by the ocean. This trip promises a spectacular escapade, between the azure blue and charcoal gray panoramas of the coast and the gentle agricultural richness of the green lands of Brittany and the Vendée.
Most of the route is on traffic-free cycle paths, making it accessible to the vast majority of cyclists. With days not exceeding 70 kilometers, you'll have plenty of time to sample as many local specialties as possible, from rich Breton kouign-amanns with good butter to Charentais cognac, which does your legs a world of good after a day's pedaling!
With the Atlantic Ocean as your landmark, experience the best of the coast, where steep cliffs and castles from another era blend together to let you appreciate the immensity of these majestic landscapes.
