From Quebec City to Montmagny

For this fourth day of the Grand Tour, we're heading for Montmagny by ferry and stretching out a little inland, just for fun.

 

QUÉBEC-LÉVIS RIVER SHUTTLE INFO :

  • Schedule : between 7:30 and 11:00 a.m. First crossing: 7:30 am. Last crossing: 11:00 am. There are crossings every 30 minutes and each crossing takes about 10 minutes.
  • Click here for a map.
  • A Vélo Québec employee will be on hand to supervise you.
  • The crossing is free: your wristband serves as your ticket.

 

Want to get straight to Montmagny without pedaling? Treat yourself to the Bike Day Off shuttle! Reserve your place at the Info booth on Monday before 9 p.m. Price: $25 per person. The shuttle leaves Quebec City village at 9:30 a.m. and stops at the Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse lunch stop for your lunch.

After your day on the bike (or your day off), we'll celebrate at this second Grand Tour village!

First, at 7:30 p.m., learn more about wild mushroom picking with Jean-Paul Blais, framer and true Grand Tour icon!

Then head to the bistro to dance to the DJ's music, from 8 to 10:30 p.m.!

 

INFOS Under the comforter package: 

Shuttle service between Hôtel L'Oiselière and Hôtel Econolodge - Montmagny - August 5 and 6, 2025 :

  • Between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.: departures every 30 minutes
  • Between 19:00 and 20:00: BREAK - No service
  • Between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.: departures every 30 minutes

In Montmagny, as the Hôtel Centre-Ville is a 5-10 minute walk away, there will be no shuttle service.

Vélo Québec is proud to have Milk as a presenting partner of the Grand Tour. Enjoy a good chocolate milk to help you recover after the effort when you arrive in the village.

  • Take advantage of the presence of theEscape Café truck in Quebec City between 6:30 and 10 a.m. for a good cup of coffee, or in the village of Montmagny from 1 to 3 p.m. Don't forget your reusable mug!
  • At the finish line, enjoy a well-deserved chocolate milk, courtesy of Le Lait.
  • Come and try out several outdoor games (spikeball, badminton, arrow bow and Finnish bowling) supplied by Décathlon!
  • Buy Vélo Québec merchandise at our Boutique in Montmagny village between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
  • Come and enjoy a good beer from Siboire, the official beer of the Grand Tour.
  • If you have any questions, unforeseen circumstances or last-minute changes, come and see us at the Vélo Québec INFO booth. The INFO booth in the village of Québec is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The one in Montmagny is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Québec → Lévis crossing - August 5

  • Schedule : between 7:30 and 11:00 a.m. First crossing: 7:30 am. Last crossing: 11:00 am. There are crossings every 30 minutes.
  • Capacity per departure: maximum 200 cyclists per crossing

The GT bracelet will serve as a "ticket".

Bicycle racks will be available on the ferry.

Regular route, 82 km

From Quebec City, take the ferry to Lévis, then the leisurely Parcours des Anses eastward. More than half the day will be spent on Route verte #1. Today, we'll be making the most of the river, with a ravito at Berthier-sur-Mer.

Shortcut, 64 km

This shortcut will allow you to enjoy the river even more, avoiding the rectangle detour further inland.

Optional route 1, +24 km

The morning's optional route takes you back a little to the west, in a 24 km loop through Bellechasse.

Gravito stop 1 - km 21

Stop off in Beaumont to recharge your batteries on the banks of the river.

Lunch stop - km 50

After a beautiful morning on the road, grab a bite to eat in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, at Collège Jésus-Marie de Bellechasse, before setting off for a beautiful afternoon on the bike!

The lunch stop is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Optional route 2, + 26 km

Another inland exploration, this time optional. You'll avoid the village of Saint-Vallier, in favor of a short climb to La Durentaye, but return to the main route just before the Berthier-sur-Mer feed station.

Gravito stop 2, km 67

Cheer up, the day's almost over! Need a little water and a snack? This second stop-ravito of the day will allow you to stop for a while in Berthier-sur-Mer, some fifteen kilometers before your arrival. For something sweet, Le paradis de la glace creamery is just around the corner.

Please note that sections of the route on bike paths are not accessible to our vehicles, especially support vehicles. Support staff will be on the bike paths to help cyclists requiring immediate assistance.

In the village

The village of Montmagny offers a wide range of activities. Whether you're looking to unwind, have a drink or take your mind off things, we've got you covered!

Today in the village, you can :

  • Take a shower at Festidouches between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. in Quebec City and between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Montmagny.
  • Are your muscles sore and in need of a session of physio or taping? Drop by the sports therapy kiosk: from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. in the Quebec village (here by appointment only), or between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (lunch stop) and between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. (Montmagny village).
  • Enjoy a massage therapy session between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (lunch stop) and between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. (village):
    • Rates :
      Drop-in (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.): $20 for 10 minutes, $25 for 15 minutes and $30 for 20 minutes (taxes included).
      Village (2 pm - 10 pm): $55 for 30 minutes, $100 for 55 minutes (taxes included). Book your session at the massage therapy kiosk in the Village before you hit the road! Reserve your massage therapy session in advance by texting Maude at (819) 817-8958 with your choice of time slot. You'll receive a prompt reply confirming your appointment or suggesting an alternative time slot. Don't wait to book your next session!
  • Have fun with the many board games offered by SOCIOJEUX.
  • Cool off at the Pointe-aux-Oies Water Park, 2 km from the village, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. ($16).
  • Spend a relaxing moment in yoga from 8 to 9 am, or in pilates from 4 to 5 pm (yoga mat not provided).
  • Watch a film at the village cinema, from 3pm to 11pm.
  • Have a drink (or two, or three... ) at the bistro between 3 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
  • Attend framer Jean-Paul Blais's workshop on wild mushrooms from 7:30 to 8:45 pm.
  • Let loose on the dance floor to the music of a DJ from 8 pm to 10:30 pm

At the Grand Tour, we think of everything! If you have dietary restrictions, whether imposed or voluntary, we've got you covered. Make sure you have the right bracelet for your needs - it all works with the color of the bracelet. If you have allergies or special intolerances, ask the caterer when you collect your meal so that we can provide you with a meal adapted to your needs.
