Connecting Toulouse to the Mediterranean, the Canal du Midi is characterized by the extraordinary light that inspired Van Gogh. Steeped in history thanks to cities like Carcassonne and its medieval citadel, or Narbonne—the first Roman colony outside Italy—it offers a bountiful culinary experience where cassoulet and sausages take center stage.
And to help you fully enjoy this charming itinerary, your route is organized around three stopover towns, from which you can explore looped routes that give you complete freedom to set your own pace. Cruise along the Canal’s roads at your own pace, savoring the pleasure of taking in the stunning scenery and stopping at every turn to discover a piece of history.
With the “ Self-guided ” package, enjoy your trip on your own terms, with complete independence. We’ll provide you with the itinerary and book your accommodations—the rest is up to you!
4 STOPOVER CITIES: Your itinerary, designed as loops around four stopover cities, minimizes the number of trips you have to make and gives you plenty of time to explore and enjoy the places where you stop.
