Departing from Córdoba, Andalusia's capital with its charming historic center, you'll be delighted to discover Spain's sunniest region, home of flamenco and bullfighting. Andalusia also boasts a fabulous architectural heritage inherited from Moorish domination, which lasted from the 8th to the 15th century.
Seville offers an eloquent example: the Real Alcázar palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Andalusian capital is also worth a visit for its narrow streets and flower-filled patios (Santa Cruz district) or its vast terraced gardens along the river, via the Paseo de Cristóbal Colón.
Your cycling itinerary will then take you to Arcos de la Frontera, a town set on a rocky outcrop overlooking the surrounding hills. From here, you'll continue up the mountainside on the popular and very pretty White Villages Route, so named because of the whiteness of the whitewashed houses. Andalusia on two wheels, a bright choice in more ways than one!
