Day 1
Arrival in Pointe-à-la-Croix.
Welcome to Pointe-à-la-Croix, the starting point of your journey. At the border between Quebec and New Brunswick, you’ll discover the beauty of the Restigouche River, which, just like you in the coming days, flows into Chaleur Bay.
Day 2
Pointe-à-la-Croix, Escuminac, Miguasha, Nouvelle, Carleton-sur-Mer (55 to 64 km).
The Restigouche River is certainly pretty, but we’re here for Baie-des-Chaleurs! After driving a few dozen kilometers along the river, the ocean comes into view as you enter Miguasha National Park. From that point on, you’ll be right by the sea the whole way!
Day 3
Carleton-sur-Mer, Maria, Gesgapegiag, New Richmond, Caplan, St-Siméon, Bonaventure. Alternative route via St-Jules (63 or 72 km).
Today, the air on the roads of the Gaspé Peninsula is filled with the fresh scent of the sea! Maria, New Richmond, Saint-Siméon… the villages roll by, and the road winds gently, allowing you to take in the majestic scenery unfolding before you.
Day 4
Bonaventure, New Carlisle, Paspébiac, Shigawake, Port-Daniel, Newport, Pabos Mills, Chandler (86 km).
Chaleur Bay still envelops us in its majestic blue curtain, but this time we’ll be climbing a bit, so warm up your legs before we set off! It’s during the last 30 kilometers of the day, particularly around L’Anse-aux-Gascons, that the road starts to climb. Hang in there—once you arrive in Chandler, you’ll be able to cool off, or reward yourself with a delicious seafood platter!
Day 5
Chandler, Petit-Pabos, Grande-Rivière, Ste-Thérèse-de-Gaspé, Cap d’Espoir, L’Anse-à-Beaufils, Percé. Alternative route via La Petite-France, St-Isidore-de-Gaspé. (51 to 62 km).
By the fifth day, Chaleur Bay will hold no more secrets for you… or so it would have you believe! The gently rolling road lets you fully soak in the magnificent scenery, with the journey culminating in a view of Percé Rock! Standing before this natural wonder, you can say, “Mission accomplished!”
Day 6
A day off or a loop via Weygand, Ireland. (18 km).
After all that effort, it’s time to relax! That’s why we’re offering you a free day to explore the area around Percé before heading back to Pointe-à-la-Croix the next day. Unless…
Still hungry for more? Explore the hills of Percé on a roughly 30-kilometer loop. Heads up! Keep breakfast light this morning, since the loop starts with a climb of over 250 meters just 2 kilometers in!
Day 7
10:00 a.m.: Return transfer to Pointe-à-la-Croix (3 hours 30 minutes).
