The right wing of the butterfly-shaped archipelago will be your playground, and Saint-François will serve as your base, from which you’ll set out each day to explore by bike. Grande-Terre is essentially a plain dotted with small hills—known as “mornes”—the highest of which rises to 177 meters.
Saint-François, renowned for its beaches, is one of Guadeloupe’s main tourist destinations, but it’s much quieter than Pointe-à-Pitre and Le Gosier. From there, you’ll explore much of Grande-Terre on quiet roads. In particular, you’ll head north toward Pointe des Châteaux and its beautiful cliffs.
With the sea always nearby and a touch of French flair on your plate, this setting—a favorite among cyclists—is sure to delight. Add to that a day trip to Marie-Galante, where the ferry from Saint-François will take you, and voilà—you’ll be flying high! Plus, thanks to the daily looped routes, you can always take a rest day to enjoy the beaches and the delicious cocktails served at the hotel if your legs need a break!
With the Self-guided option, enjoy your trip at your own pace and on your own terms. We’ll provide you with the itinerary and book your accommodations—the rest is up to you!
