Scenic roads and the deep blue Atlantic Ocean

Discover the Cabot Trail, a magnificent scenic route that runs along the coast of Cape Breton Island, between the sea and the mountains. The trail follows the north coast of the island and climbs up to the Highlands National Park, offering breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

From there, you will reach Chéticamp, the Acadian heritage center of the region, for an overview of the area's French-speaking culture. You will then head to Sydney and its pretty harbor, via Bras d'Or Lake and its quiet roads. Take the opportunity to visit the Fortress of Louisbourg, the largest reconstruction of an 18th-century French fortified town on the continent. John Cabot captured the beauty of the region in 1497. Now it's your turn to do the same!
