How far in advance should I book my bike trip?

Voyage Guided - subject to availability:
If you choose a trip that includes air transportation, you must make your reservation 70 days before the departure date, subject to availability. Once the 70-day deadline has passed, Vélo Québec Voyages returns unsold airline tickets. Travelers who book their trip after this date will be responsible for the difference in airfare costs, which must be purchased on an individual basis. Without air transportation: up to 45 days before your departure date.

Self-guided :
We recommend booking your trip as early as possible due to the high demand during the summer months. Indeed, some establishments may be fully booked if reservations are made too close to the departure date.

Self-guided reservations:
For all Self-guided trips, please allow some time between the time you request your booking and the time you wish to depart to give us time to plan the details of your trip.

Booking deadlines :

  • 3 to 6-day packages in Quebec: up to 21 working days before departure
  • Packages of 7 days or more in Quebec, Ontario: up to 28 working days before departure
  • Packages in the Maritimes and Western Canada: up to 28 working days before departure

Questions about Grand Tour and Petite Aventure events

Is it possible to do the Grand Tour and Petite Aventure with an electrically-assisted bike?

Yes, during events, electrical connections will be available for participants.

Is it possible to have a gluten-free menu for allergy sufferers?

A gluten-free menu is available for meals. However, due to the high volume involved in the logistics of serving meals on the Grand Tour and Petite Aventure, we cannot guarantee 100% freedom from food cross-contamination. The gluten-free menu is therefore available for participants with a gluten intolerance, but is not recommended for celiac participants.

Is it possible to modify the Grand Tour or Petite Aventure package?

No, packages are offered according to the formulas and duration as presented on our website and these are not modifiable.

Is it possible to have access to the Grand Tour and Petite Aventure meal service without paying for lodging?

The packages offered are not modifiable and therefore include accommodation and meals. However, you can bring your own meals, but it is not possible to deduct the price of meals from your package.

Travel with Vélo Québec Voyages

Am I obliged to follow a pack, or a particular rhythm when travelling?

All our trips take place at your own pace, with a guide who adapts to your speed. So you can ride with complete peace of mind, without the pressure of following a group or a pace that doesn't suit you.

Is it possible to take rest days instead of doing the day tour on my trip?

Many of our trips are built around stopover towns, allowing you to enjoy optional rest days on most days of your stay. However, transit days are compulsory, as accommodation is booked in advance. If you're traveling with an escort, it may be possible to travel with a recovery car.

In the event of injury, a decision will be taken in consultation with the participant, our guide and a doctor (if necessary) as to the continuation of the trip.

Can I bring forward my departure, or delay my return?

Don't hesitate to ask our advisors if it's possible to book accommodation before departure, or after the end of your cycling trip, so that you can enjoy your destination for longer. Can I bring my electric bike?

  • Travel WITH flight

No. Lithium batteries are dangerous goods. Even if you remove the battery from your bike, airlines have safety requirements and refuse to board electric-assist bikes. For further information, please consult the airline's information on prohibited or restricted items.

  • Flightless travel

It is possible to bring your electric bike on one of our trips without air transport. When you register, please let us know so that we can plan it into the logistics of the trip.

Is it possible to rent a bike for my trip?
