From Saint-Zotique to Mont Rigaud

The Petite Aventure is already coming to an end! Before we say goodbye, however, we still have a wonderful day of cycling ahead of us to return to our starting point at Mont Rigaud. On this beautiful day, you can choose from several optional routes and shortcuts, allowing you to enjoy the pretty, scenic roads a little longer… or to reach the finish line quickly to celebrate the weekend’s achievements!

Leave the village at your own pace between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Before setting off on this final day of cycling, enjoy a hot drink fromEscape Café in the village between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m.

Vélo Québec is proud to have Lait as a presenting partner for La Petite Aventure. Enjoy a delicious chocolate milk to help you recover after the race at the finish line.

Need to give your legs a rest? A “Day Off from Cycling” shuttle is available to take you back to the Mont Rigaud start and finish line. Book your shuttle at the Info Kiosk for $25. The shuttle will leave the village at 9:30 a.m.

The concession stand will be open to serve you in the village from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

If you have any questions, encounter any unexpected issues, or need to make last-minute changes, please stop by the INFO Vélo Québec booth. It will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the village of Saint-Zotique, and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the finish line at Mont Rigaud.

Standard route, 48 km, +250/-256

Starting from Saint-Zotique, you’ll pass through a series of small villages before reaching the end of this Petite Aventure Mont Rigaud. Along the way: Coteau-Station, Saint-Polycarpe, Sainte-Marthe… and Rigaud.

On this final day, you’ll have one last chance to enjoy the region’s beautiful, quiet roads before heading home. The route will be completely flat until the 30th km (until the lunch stop). After that, expect a steep climb up the mountainside of Mont Rigaud and a long, winding descent. Please be extra careful!

Optional Route 2 AM, +20 km, +262/-268

50% on a bike path and the other 50% on the River Trail, which is very quiet.

A very scenic route: A bike path that runs along the Soulanges Canal, and the second section on Chemin du Fleuve offers a beautiful view of the river.

Points of interest along the route: 

  • Coteau du Lac National Historic Site (historical interpretation)
  • Deux Grains au Moulin Bakery (coffee and pastries)

Optional Route 3 AM, +35 km, +280/-286

Lunch stop

Be sure to bring your swimsuits—there may be water activities available.

Optional route 1 PM, +5 km, +307/-313

Very steep climb and descent. This optional route is offered just to take on this challenge! With the exception of the section on Route 201, the entire route is through the forest. Very beautiful and peaceful.

Upon arrival

When you arrive at the end of your Petite Aventure, celebrate your weekend on the road with live music at the finish line, where our bistro will serve refreshments—including delicious Siboire beers—from noon to 6 p.m.

 

Return by shuttle

Have you chosen the shuttle option to leave Mont Rigaud? Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the shuttle departs at 3:00 p.m.
