PARTICIPANT INFORMATION - DAY 2 - SUNDAY, AUGUST 3

Loops west of Quebec City

On this beautiful Sunday, we set off on our first loop. A few, in fact, if you choose one of the two options. The different itineraries are a mix of city cycling and rural exploration, with a constant slight gradient.

 

INFOS Tour d'un jour : Have you decided to come and ride with us this Sunday? Come early in the morning to our Quebec Village (Collège Saint-Charles-Garnier: 1150 Boulevard René-Lévesque O, Quebec City, QC G1S 1V7). Parking is available at Holland Elementary School (940 Av. Ernest-Gagnon, Québec, QC G1S 3R5) or on adjacent streets. Your bracelets, received by mail, give you access to all Grand Tour services for the day. Then you can hit the road at your leisure.

 

INFOS Under the comforter package: 

Hilton Hotel Shuttle - Quebec City - August 2, 3 and 4, 2025 :

  • Between 2:00 and 4:00 pm: departures every 30 minutes
  • Between 16:00 and 19:00: departures at the following times
  • Between 19:00 and 20:00: BREAK - No service
  • Between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.: departures every 30 minutes

Hotel Pur - Quebec City Shuttle - August 2, 3 and 4, 2025 :

  • Between 14:00 and 16:00: departures every 40 minutes
  • Between 16:00 and 19:00: departures at the following times
  • Between 19:00 and 20:00: BREAK - No service
  • Between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.: departures every 40 minutes

 

INFO RIVER SHUTTLE LÉVIS-QUÉBEC :

  • Schedule Between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. First crossing: 9:30 am. Last crossing: 4:00 pm. There are crossings every 30 minutes and the crossing takes about 10 minutes.
  • Waiting area: corner of Laurier and Saint-Laurent. Click here for a map.
  • A Vélo Québec employee will be on hand to supervise you.
  • The crossing is free: your wristband serves as your ticket.

 

 

Whether at the lunch stop or in the village, enjoy a massage to lighten your legs during or after cycling. Book your massage therapy session in advance by texting Maude at 819 817-8958 with your preferred time slot. You'll receive a prompt reply confirming your appointment or suggesting an alternative time slot. Don't wait to book your next session!

 

From 4 to 5 p.m. at the diocese, don't miss aworkshop by MINT'N DRY, a Quebec manufacturer of biodegradable bike cleaning products. Then, from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., we welcome Bruno Marchand, Mayor of Quebec City, for a cycling-themed discussion.

 

At 7 p.m., the film À bicyclette! will be previewed almost exclusively for Grand Tour participants, at the Clap cinema in Sainte-Foy. Accessible by bike (one-way - 4.2 km) or free by bus (visit our INFO booth to pick up your bus ticket). REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Fill in the form

 

Finally, don't miss the chance to party with the incredible members of Bonanza at the bistro, from 8 to 10 p.m.!

Vélo Québec is proud to have Milk as a presenting partner of the Grand Tour. Enjoy a good chocolate milk to help you recover after the effort when you arrive at the Village.

  • When you return to the village, discover the surprise of the day, courtesy of Le Lait!
  • Treat yourself to a hotEscape Café beverage before you hit the road between 6:30 and 10:00 a.m., or on your way back between 1 and 3 p.m. Don't forget your reusable mug!
  • Come and store for your next pair of cycling glasses at the Eye Am truck, located in the village and open between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Come and try out several outdoor games (spikeball, badminton, arrow bow and Finnish bowling) supplied by Décathlon between 2 and 8 p.m.!
  • Buy Vélo Québec merchandise at our Village Boutique between 12:00 and 21:00.
  • Stop by the bistro for a refreshing beer from Siboire, the official beer of the Grand Tour.
  • If you have any questions, unforeseen circumstances or last-minute changes, come and see us at the Vélo Québec INFO booth. The village INFO booth is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Regular route, 77 km

Between Quebec City and Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, a half-urban, half-rural route awaits us today. The urban section is mostly on cycle paths, safe but with more traffic lights.

No less than 29 km are on Route verte #6, via the Corridor des Cheminots and the Vélopiste Jacques-Cartier/Portneuf.

Gravito stop 1 - km 16

Fill up your water bottles and enjoy a snack at theHôtel - Musée Premières Nations. Extend the pleasure by visiting the Museum.

Short loop, 48 km

Today's shortcut is only 3 km long, but cuts out 29 km and the second part of the regular route. A must if you want to enjoy the rest of the day.

Optional route 1, + 24 km

Early for dinner? Take this leisurely forest loop around Lac Saint-Joseph to work up an appetite. The western part of the lake is better paved than the other side.

Lunch stop - km 40

Enjoy lunch at Parc du Grand-Héron (4 Rue Louis Jolliet, Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, QC G3N 2N6) before hitting the road again for the afternoon.

The lunch stop is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Optional route 2, + 33 km

Had too much to eat? Take the optional route immediately after the lunch stop, then turn right into Pont-Rouge before returning a little further on the regular route. Treat yourself at the Pont-Rouge creamery.

Gravito stop 2 - km 65

Before heading back through Quebec towards the village, take a short break at L'Ancienne-Lorette, 12 km from the finish.

Please note that sections of the route on bike paths are not accessible to our vehicles, especially support vehicles. Support staff will be on the bike paths to help cyclists requiring immediate assistance.

In the village

At Le Village, in the heart of beautiful Quebec City, you'll find a wide range of activities. Whether you're looking to unwind, have a drink or take your mind off things, we've got you covered!

Today in the village, you can :

  • Shower at Festidouches between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Enjoy a session of massage therapy 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (lunch stop) and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (village) :
    • Rates :
      Drop-in (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.): $20 for 10 minutes, $25 for 15 minutes and $30 for 20 minutes (taxes included).
      Village (2 pm - 10 pm): $55 for 30 minutes, $100 for 55 minutes (taxes included). Book your session at the massage therapy kiosk in the Village before you hit the road! Reserve your massage therapy session in advance by texting Maude at(819) 817-8958 with your choice of time slot. You'll receive a prompt reply confirming your appointment or suggesting an alternative time slot. Don't wait to book your next session!
  • Enjoy the many board games offered by SOCIOJEUX between 3 pm and 9 pm.
  • Swimming at the Saint-Sacrement pool between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., a 1.5 km bike ride from the village (free)
  • Spend a relaxing moment in yoga from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., or in pilates from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. (yoga mat not provided).
  • Watch a film at the village cinema, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Have a drink (or two, or three... ) at the bistro between 3 pm and 10:30 pm.
  • Attend the MINT'N DRY bike cleaning workshop from 4 to 5 p.m. in the diocese.
  • See the conversation between Bruno Marchand and Jean-François Rheault on the importance of cycling at 5 p.m. under the marquee in front of the diocese.
  • Attend thepreview of the film À bicyclette! at Cinéma Clap Ste-Foy at 7 p.m. (free). There are 2 ways to get there: with your bike, following this itinerary (15 min / 4.2 km), or by city bus (visit the info booth to get a free ticket).
  • Vibrate to the sounds of the band Bonanza from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

At the Grand Tour, we think of everything! If you have dietary restrictions, whether imposed or voluntary, we've got you covered. Make sure you have the right bracelet for your needs - it all works with the color of your bracelet. If you have special allergies or intolerances, ask the caterer when you collect your meal so that we can provide you with a meal adapted to your needs.
