INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS - DAY 4 - TUESDAY, AUGUST 6
From Gatineau to Papineauville
On this fourth day of the Grand Tour, we're heading for Papineauville via the Outaouais country roads, where you'll appreciate the region's tranquil setting.
Want to get straight to Papineauville without pedaling? Treat yourself to the Bike Day Off shuttle! Reserve your place at the Info booth on Monday before 9 p.m. Price: $20 per person. The shuttle leaves the village of Gatineau at 9:30 a.m. and stops at the Buckingham lunch stop for your lunch.
After your day on the bike (or your day off), a full program awaits you at this second Grand Tour village!
Vary your cycling activities with a 10% discount on mountain bike rentals at Montebello Vélo de Montagne upon presentation of your Grand Tour participant bracelet. For cyclists staying at the Fairmont Le Château Montebello, the site is right on the hotel grounds! For all others, the discount is valid until September 30!
First, at 6:30 p.m., learn more about wild mushroom picking from Jean-Paul Blais, framer and Grand Tour icon!
Then, at 7:30 p.m., we move to the auditorium for a talk by Jonathan B. Roy. Roy, who will talk about his bicycle journeys around the world, with previously unpublished anecdotes.
We end the evening at the bistro by letting our hair down to the frenzied rock of the band The Rock Show from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm!

Vélo Québec is proud to count Lait au chocolat as a presenting partner of the Grand Tour. Enjoy a good chocolate milk to help you recover after the effort when you arrive in the village.
- Take advantage of the presence of theEscape Café truck in Gatineau between 6:30 and 10:00 a.m. for a good cup of coffee, or in the village of Papineauville from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- Come and try out several outdoor games (spikeball, badminton, arrow bow and Finnish bowling) supplied by Décathlon!
- The Décathlon boutique will also be on hand to offer a wide range of sporting goods.
- Décathlon will also be offering a workshop on the mechanical maintenance of your bike. See you at 4:00 pm at the Décathlon booth.
- Buy Vélo Québec merchandise at our Boutique in Papineauville village between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
- Come and enjoy a good beer from Siboire, the official beer of the Grand Tour.
- At the finish line, enjoy a well-deserved chocolate milk, courtesy of Le Lait.
- If you have any questions, unforeseen circumstances or last-minute changes, come and see us at the Vélo Québec INFO booth. The INFO booth in the village of Gatineau will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The one in Papineauville is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

On the road

Regular route, 88 km
Leaving Gatineau, you can enjoy the tranquility of section #1 of the Route verte one last time, before turning north and then east, on beautiful country roads that allow you to appreciate the region's rich agricultural heritage, all the way to the second village on this Grand Tour, Papineauville.
Shortcut, 73 km
This shortcut will get you to the Buckingham lunch stop more quickly, and will also take you along the Ottawa River between Thurso and Plaisance instead of following the regular route north.
ATTENTION: This route does not include the second ravito stop in Plaisance. When you leave the lunch stop, make sure you have enough water to get to the finish line!
Optional route 1, +32 km
This morning's optional route takes you into the agricultural heartland of the region, near Val-des-Monts. On this 32 km route, you'll ride along the shores of pretty Lake McGregor, before rejoining the regular route at the first ravito stop in Perkins.
Gravito stop 1 - km 24
Stop off in Perkins, a pretty little village, to recharge your batteries at J.A. Perkins Park before returning to the lunch stop.
Lunch stop - km 44
After a lovely morning on the road, grab a bite to eat in Buckingham at the École du Boisé before heading off for a lovely afternoon of cycling!
Enjoy the cheese of the day, courtesy of Fromages d'ici: Cheddar de l'Ile-aux-Grues.
The lunch stop is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Optional route 2, + 8 km
If we suggest an extra Mayo... you'd think we were talking about adding a condiment to your meal, but we're not! This optional route allows you to explore the little village of Mayo, a pretty little town surrounded by greenery, before returning to the regular route just before arriving in Thurso, the birthplace of a certain... Guy Lafleur!

Gravito stop 2, km 74
Cheer up, the day's almost over! Need a little break to drink some water and eat a snack? This second stop-ravito of the day will allow you to stop for a while at Chutes du Moulin, in Plaisance, some ten kilometers before you arrive in Papineauville.
Please note that sections of the route on bike paths are not accessible to our vehicles, especially support vehicles. Support staff will be on the bike paths to help cyclists requiring immediate assistance.
In the village
The village of Papineauville offers a wide range of activities. Whether you're looking to unwind, have a drink or take your mind off things, we've got you covered!
Today in the village, you can :
- Take a shower at Festidouches between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. in Gatineau and between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Plantagenet. Take advantage of the Pure products available.
- Are your muscles sore and in need of physio or taping? Drop by the sports therapy booth between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (lunch stop) and between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. (Papineauville village).
- Enjoy a massage therapy session between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (lunch stop) and between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. (village):

Drop-in (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.): $20 for 10 minutes, $25 for 15 minutes and $30 for 20 minutes (taxes included).
Village (2 pm - 10 pm): $55 for 30 minutes, $100 for 55 minutes (taxes included). Book your session at the massage therapy kiosk in the Village before you hit the road! Reserve your massage therapy session in advance by texting Djilali Aïcha at(514) 991-1822 with your choice of time slot. You'll receive a prompt reply confirming your appointment or suggesting an alternative time slot. Don't wait to book your next session!

- Watch a film at the village cinema. To find out what films are playing today, visit the village cinema, located in the Louis-Joseph Papineau High School auditorium.

- Have a drink (or two, or three... ) at the bistro between 3 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
- Attend framer Jean-Paul Blais's workshop on wild mushrooms at 6:30 p.m.
