The right wing of the butterfly-shaped archipelago will be your playground, and Saint-François your base, from where you can set off each day on your bike. Grande-Terre is essentially a plain dominated by small hills—known as mornes—the highest of which rises to 177 m.
Saint-François, renowned for its beaches, is one of Guadeloupe's tourist hubs, but much quieter than Pointe-à-Pitre and Le Gosier. From there, you can explore much of Grande-Terre on quiet roads. In particular, you can drive north to Pointe des Châteaux and its beautiful cliffs.
The sea is never far away, and a touch of French cuisine will complete this setting, which is very popular with cyclists. Add to that a day trip to Marie-Galante, where the ferry from Saint-François will take you, and you'll be flying high! Then, thanks to the daily looped circuits, you can always take a day off to enjoy the beaches and delicious cocktails offered at the hotel if your legs need a break!
With the Self-guided option, enjoy your stay however you want, in complete independence. We give you the itinerary, book your accommodation, and the rest is up to you!
