A cycling vacation in the heart of Japanese history
Duration
15 nights
Level
4 - Advanced - hilly and mountainous - 50 to 90 km
This itinerary, mainly in the Kansai region and in the south of the country, offers a stimulating overview of Japan. On the agenda: modern Osaka, the wooden castle in Himeji—the most visited in the country—the ancient capitals of Kyoto and Nara, rich in heritage, not to mention Mount Kōya, where you will sleep in a monastery. And that's not all!
Add to that a string of islands—including Shikoku and its 88 temples—connected by six bridges, Hiroshima, a 186 mph ride to Kyoto aboard the Shinkansen bullet train, and traditional ryokan inns, and you have a memorable Japan, where good weather, refinement, and culinary delights await you every day.
Want to travel with your own group: family, friends, or colleagues? Want to carry out a project? Discover a destination? Take on a sporting challenge? Raise funds for a cause close to your heart? Choose the Tailor-made option and decide on the 3 Ds: Date, Destination, Duration.
Tell us about your plans, including your desired dates and destination, whether it's for a day, a week, or a fortnight. We'll help you make your dreams of getting away come true in good company!
