A cycling vacation in the heart of Japanese history
Duration
15 nights
Level
4 - Advanced - hilly and mountainous - 50 to 90 km
This carefully curated itinerary, focusing mainly on the Kansai region and southern Japan, offers a stimulating taste of Japanese culture. On the itinerary: modern Osaka, the wooden castle in Himeji—the most visited in the country—the ancient capitals of Kyoto and Nara, rich in heritage, and Mount Kōya, where you’ll spend the night in a monastery. And that’s not all!
Add to that a string of islands—including Shikoku and its 88 temples—linked by six bridges, Hiroshima, a 300 km/h ride to Kyoto aboard the Shinkansen, and traditional ryokan inns, and you have a memorable Japan, where beautiful weather, refinement, and culinary delights greet you with every new day.
