Burgundy - Eurovélo 6
Duration: 15 days and 14 nights
August 29 to September 13, 2025
Duration
7 nights
Level
4 - Advanced - hilly and mountainous - 50 to 90 km
The butterfly-shaped right wing of the archipelago will be your playground, and Saint-François your pied-à-terre, from where you'll go butterflying by bike every day. Grande-Terre is essentially a plain dominated by small hills - known as mornes - the highest of which rises to 177m.
Saint-François, renowned for its beaches, is one of Guadeloupe's tourist hubs, but much quieter than Pointe-à-Pitre and Le Gosier. From here, you'll criss-cross much of Grande-Terre on roads with few traffic. In particular, you'll head north to the Pointe des Châteaux and its pretty cliffs.
The sea is never far away, and a touch of France on your plate will complete this setting, so popular with cyclists. Add to this a day in Marie-Galante, where the ferry from Saint-François will take you, and you'll have wings! Then, thanks to the daily loop tours, you can always take a day off to enjoy the beaches and the delicious cocktails offered at the hotel if your legs need a break!
